Betty J. Ward Scott, 94, of Winchester, widow of Virgil E. Scott, passed away Friday at her home. She was born in Louisville on April 3, 1923, to the late Edward Gilbert Ward and Mary Evelyn Glenn Ward. She was a member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church and was an avid golfer. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth C. “Betsy” and Larry L. Spengler of Clark County; Alice M. and A. Wendell Zopfi of Richmond; Susan W. and Bruce A. Campbell and Rebecca J. and Larry A. Long of Winchester; Barbara J. and Carl E. Hatton of Leawood, Kansas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard E. and Theresa Scott of Winchester and Steven G. and Cheryl Scott of Greer, SC; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 11am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winchester, KY. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Scott, Bradley Scott, Scott Hatton, Brady Hatton, Mathew Long, Zachary Long, Andrew Scott, David Campbell and Adam Zopfi. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
