Avery Lee Harmon, 70, of Winchester, husband of Dianna Jean Puckett Harmon, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Avery was born on January 27, 1947 in Martin, KY. to the late Hydrac and Lula Mae Myers Harmon. Avery was a self-employed construction worker, specializing in excavation. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army Reserves and the Winchester Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his loving wife Dianna, survivors include two daughters, Melissa Anne (Willis) Adkins of Cadiz, KY. and Amy Lynn Harmon of Winchester; two sisters, Betty Lois Osborne and Shirley Ann Browning. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service to honor Avery’s life will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Stan Alger. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. There will also be a memorial service on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Betsy Layne Freewill Baptist Church in Betsy Layne, KY.with a memorial visitation starting at 2:00PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Winchester Freewill Baptist Church, 514 E. Washington St., Winchester, KY. 40391. Scobee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
