Howard Hinton Woods Sr., 92, passed away on May 24, 2017, at his home. A native of Clay City, KY, he was born on March 1, 1925, to the late Green and Bertha Potts Woods. He was a World War II Veteran, member of the Lexington VFW and retired from L&N Railroad.

He is survived by seven children, Sophia (Gordon) Pickett, Charlene Watkins, Johnny (Carolyn) Hughes, Harold Hughes, Inez (Tommy) Hines, Howard (Nancy) Woods and Michael (Judy) Woods; twenty two grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Easter Woods; sons, Ricky Allen Woods and Ronnie Lee Hughes; daughter, Peggy Sue Woods; son-in-law, Harvey Glen Watkins; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Hughes; brother, Buford Woods; four sisters, Inez Dapice, Sue Bush, Marie Dunaway and Peggy Bowman.

Services will be at 1:00PM, Friday, May 26, 2017, at Scobee Funeral Home by Bro. Gary Stith. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Lexington, KY. Pallbearers will be Timmy Hughes, Greg Hughes, Harvey Watkins Jr., Tom Watkins, Thomas Hines Jr. and Howard Woods III.
