Benjamin Mathew Shearer, Jr. passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Born May 11, 1924, Mr. Shearer was the son of Benjamin Mathew Shearer, Sr. and Grace Rupard Shearer. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Mavis Napier Shearer, and grandson, Mr. Oxden-Willows Mathew Shearer.

Mr. Shearer retired from the US Postal Service and was a member of the Oleika Shrine.

He is survived by his 3 children, Mrs. Bonnie Shearer Mays (Lawrence Williams), of Lexington, Mr. Ron Shearer (Michele), of Hardin KY, and Mr. Tom K. Shearer (Gail) of Bagdad, KY. Grandchildren Mr. Scott Mays (Kristy) of Elizabethtown, KY, and Mrs. Meredith Katherine Ward (Ben), Lexington, KY., 2 great grandchildren, Elijah Griffin Mays and Joy Katherine Mays of Elizabethtown.

The Celebration of Life for Mr. Shearer will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Central Baptist Church in Winchester. Visitation will be from noon to time of service. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.
