CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Chad A. Downs, 34, of 205 Providence Lane, was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree assault, third-degree escape, second-degree fleeing or evading police, alcohol intoxication, resisting arrest and was served two warrants.

— Thomas Ballard, 33, of 5149 Muddy Creek Road, was charged Wednesday with first-degree robbery and kidnapping.

Reports

— At 9:52 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to 5149 Muddy Creek Road for a possible kidnapping and robbery. 

— At 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to 205 Providence Lane concerning an assault. Chad Downs was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

— At 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to 570 Van Meter Road concerning a stolen truck.

Accidents

— At 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Athens Boonesboro Road in which Eugene Crawford of 1001 Iron Works Road tried to stop but his vehicle’s brakes failed. The vehicle then struck a tree and a fence. Crawford and his passengers Charles Shelton and James Mullins, both of 972 White Conkwright Road, were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— On Wednesday, emergency personnel responded to nine general medical calls, one respiratory case and one seizure.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Athens Boonesboro Road.

— At 2:54 a.m. Thursday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call at 5374 Schollsville Road.

WINCHESTER POLICE

Reports

— At 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, offices were called to Speedway, 39 S. Maple St., concerning a stolen cell phone.

— At 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, officers took a report concerning a theft.

— At 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers took a report concerning a stolen vehicle.

Accidents

— At 9:26 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an injury accident on North Maple Street in which Tommy Marcum of 110 Olde Potomac Ave., was traveling south on Maple Street when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. He was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. with unspecified injuries.
