Hearings for the mother and her boyfriend charged with beating her two children were postponed for a week to allow for an interpreter to be present.

Anna Camacho, 29, of 4750 Paris Road, and 23-year-old Juan Maldondo are both charged with fourth-degree assault, first-degree criminal abuse and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the two boys, ages 6 and 9, told school counselors about the situation May 12. The school then notified social workers.

The boys said Maldondo tied them up so they were forced to stand on their tiptoes and beat them with a belt and a cell phone charger cord.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was notified May 31, and arrested Maldondo and Camacho that day. They have been in jail since.

Deputies said the boys still had evidence of their wounds on May 31.

Wednesday, the judge amended Camacho’s bond to $10,000 cash at 10 percent, or $1,000. Maldondo’s bond was not changed.

Both are scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 21 in Clark District Court.
