The proposed Jimmy John’s location on Carol Road next to Cricket Wireless had some new signage installed Monday as workers brought it closer to opening to the public.

General Manager Michael Keffer, who manages the two Jimmy John’s locations in Richmond and will manage the Winchester location, said he is looking forward to an opening in mid-July, if all goes well.

“We’re really excited for it,” said Keffer, a Winchester resident.

Keffer said once construction is complete, representatives from Jimmy John’s corporate offices will conduct a walk through to make sure the building is up to the company’s standards.

Once it is completed, an opening day can be scheduled.

When it opens, Keffer said the restaurant will be able to seat between 32 and 38 people.

It will also feature a drive-through window and delivery services.

Keffer said he has been working toward opening a location in Winchester for a long time, and he thinks the restaurant will do very well at its location near Bypass Road, West Lexington Avenue and Interstate 64.
