Incoming fifth-graders who will start their first year at Henry E. Baker Intermediate School this month were given their first glimpse at what the year will bring during WEB camp Monday morning.
WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) camp is designed to introduce students to Baker’s teachers, staff and other students.
Upon entering the school, students were introduced to their WEB leaders, sixth-grade students who led them on tours and during activities. According to Principal Josh Mounts, the sixth graders will continue to look in on the students assigned to them throughout the school year, being a resource for them if they need assistance with their transition from elementary school.
The first day of classes for students is Aug. 16. Teachers report Aug. 15.
