SATURDAY, AUG. 12
— Winchester Clark County Farmers’ Market, 8 a.m. to noon on Depot Street.
— Car show for Team Hunter and Team Liam, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Campbell Junior High School, 620 Boone Ave. Hunter Cooper and Liam Warren are Clark County children who were recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. All proceeds from the show will benefit the families. Registration is $20 per entry. There will be 14 class awards, a Cars and Bikes 5ft Club participation award, free model car and wagon entry for kids, 50/50 raffle items, door prizes and music. — Clark County Extension Service Farm Field Day, 9 a.m. to noon (beef tour starting at Barberidge Farm) and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. (starting at Clark County Extension Office). Lunch will be served. Event is free. RSVP by calling 744-4682.
— Poker run benefiting Lady Veterans Connect, noon at Renegade Classics, 1215 Winchester Road, Lexington. Cost is $20 for riders and $5 for passengers. First bike out at 1 p.m., last bike out at 2 p.m. Prizes provided by Renegade Classics. Ride ends at Trapp School, 11400 Highway 89 (Irvine Road). Concludes with a tour of the future site of a transitional home for female veterans.

TUESDAY, AUG. 15
— Clark County Human Services Council meeting, noon at Clark County Public Library community room. Nancy Turner of Winchester-Clark County Tourism will present information on using the new community calendar. All human services agencies serving Clark County are invited to send a representative. Attendees may bring their own lunch.
— Clark County Public Schools tax rate hearing, 5:30 p.m. in the Central Office board room, 1600 West Lexington Ave.
— Clark County Public School Board of Education Meeting, 6:30 p.m. in the Central Office board room, 1600 West Lexington Ave.
— Clark County Retired Teachers Association meeting, 6 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office. Guest speakers will be state Rep. Donna Mayfield and state Sen. Ralph Alvarado. Meat and drinks provided. Retired teachers should bring a favorite salad, vegetable or dessert, except new retirees and spouses. RSVP to June Tompkins at 771-2659.

— Winchester Inspired by Nature’s weekly “WINsday Walk,” and edible plants lesson, 7 p.m. at The Path on Boonesboro Road. Craig Caudill of the Nature Reliance School will teach how to identify edible plants at The Path.

— One Day-One Room book sale, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clark County Public Library. Thousands of children and adult books on sale for $3 per bag. Open to the public, no admission fee.
TUESDAY, AUG. 29
— Clark County 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock Show and Sale, 5:30 p.m. at Clark County Fairgrounds. Guests can purchase an animal raised by a student for a 4-H or FFA project. Proceeds enable students to have a project next year and pay for their current project. Dinner is also included. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 744-4682.
