Services at First

Presbyterian Church

Services at First Presbyterian Church, 130 Windridge Drive, will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Worship will be lively and traditional. Come dressed casual or formal, but more importantly, come expecting to be moved by the Spirit. All are welcome. The Rev. Ryan Bradney is pastor. Broadway Church

to host Choir Day

Broadway Missionary Baptist Church, 121 W. Broadway St., will present a Choir Day Musical at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The pastor is the Rev. Samuel U. Peoples.

Ice cream social at Salem Pres. Church

For years, it has been a tradition at Salem Presbyterian Church, 312 Combs Ferry Road, to meet on an August evening to enjoy homemade ice cream and desserts. After dessert, everyone goes to the sanctuary for the annual hymn singing. The songs are chosen by those who attend. This year Pastor Don Stanley’s wife Doris, an accomplished musician, will play the piano for a long evening of singing. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Those attending are asked to bring a can of food for God’s Pantry to share with our neighbors.

Guy Penrod concert

at Central Baptist

Central Baptist Church, 101 W. Lexington Ave, will host gospel singer Guy Penrod for his “Pray About Everything” concert at 6 p.m. Aug. 27. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door and can be purchased by calling the church office at 744-4328.

Christians were first called “Followers of the Way.” Find out more about it this Sunday at Salem Church at Pinegrove, 312 Combs Ferry Road, Winchester. Worship at “The Small Country Church with a Big Heart for Jesus” begins at 11 a.m.

Celebrate Recovery meetings on Tuesdays

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the eight beatitudes, the 12 steps and their biblical comparisons. This program is for any hurt, hang-up or habit. There is childcare available for ages newborn to 4 years and Celebration Place, a pre-covery program for ages 5 to 12. The
