The father of a 4-year-old child was arrested Wednesday after the boy was found with multiple bruises and a bite mark on his face.

Chuck G. Webb, 32, of 225 Oxford Drive, Apt. 52, was charged with first-degree criminal abuse following an interview with Winchester Police.

According to court documents, workers at the child’s preschool noticed bruises on the child’s arm and torso as well as the bite mark, before calling social services. The child told investigators that his dad, whom the child identified as Webb, caused the injuries.

He also told investigators Webb squeezed his head and bit his face.

During an interview with Winchester Police, Webb said he watched the child while his girlfriend works. He told detectives the bruises came after he grabbed the child when he fell in the shower. He said he noticed the bite mark on Tuesday when the child’s mother pointed it out, but had no explanation, according to the citation.

Webb is being held in the Clark County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Clark District Court.
