James McGinnis, 84, of Lexington, husband of the late Carolyn Asbury Taylor, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at his residence.

James was born on September 11, 1933, in Harrodsburg, KY. to the late Oliver Jackson McGinnis and Elizabeth Harris McGinnis. He retired from South Central Bell after 43 years of dedicated service. He was baptized at Northeast Christian Church in Lexington.

Survivors include one son, Wade (Ellie) McGinnis; a very special older sister, Frances Balden; He also leaves behind very special friends, Doug, Angie, and Cory Rogers.

In addition to his loving wife Carolyn and his parents, James was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Burka and Ann Rexroat.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of James McGinnis will be held at 7:00P.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Scobee Funeral Home.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
