Winchester Police are searching for the man who robbed the BP gas station on Fulton Road late Sunday night.

The robbery was reported at 10:36 p.m. Sunday by the clerk working in the store. Police said no one else was in the store at the time.

“(The clerk) said the guy came in and demanded money,” Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said. “The clerk complied and the suspect left on foot.”

The exact amount of money taken in the robbery has not been determined.

The person did not show a weapon, but Hall said he had his hand in a pocket as if he had a gun.

Surveillance video from the store showed the person as a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. Hall said the man was also wearing tan shorts, was 5-foot-9 and weighed about 175 to 190 pounds.

Monday morning, Hall said the department has received several calls about the robbery, but no solid information.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Winchester Police Department at 745-7403.
