James Millard Fitzgerald II, 75

James Millard Fitzgerald II, 75, husband of 54 years to the love of his life, Avenelle Slone Fitzgerald, died Wed. Sept. 27, 2017 at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, KY. He was born Dec. 18, 1941 in Lexington, KY to the late Frances Lou Alice Merritt Fitzgerald and James M. Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was a 1959 graduate of Lafayette High School. He attended the University of Kentucky and was a graduate of the United Association/Purdue instructor training school. He was a licensed plumber in Kentucky and Florida and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 452. Mr. Fitzgerald was a 50+ year member of Lexington Lodge #1 F&AM and the Lexington York Rite, and a member of Mt. Vernon Lodge #14 F&AM. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters, Judith (Andrew) Chapman of Winchester, KY, Jacqueline (James) Phillips of West Palm Beach, FL and son, James M. (Crystal) Fitzgerald III of Georgetown, KY. Funeral services will be held 10 am Sat., Sept 30, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Minister Ernie Sacra. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barry Shearer, Scott Sudduth, Andy Chapman, Jimmy Phillips, Darren Wilson and Lew Bogguss. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hughes, Greg Cadwell, Fred Hill, Robbie Johnson and the officers and members of Local 452. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Fri. at the funeral home.
