At the sound of a horn, runners take off from the starting line of the David Borden Memorial Anytime Fitness 5K and the Walk with Friends. Jason Thomas, at far right, won the 5K in a time of 20 minutes and 21 seconds. The race was originally scheduled during Labor Day weekend and the Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival, but was rescheduled because of threatening weather. The George Rogers Clark High School cheerleaders’ Walk with Friends happened at the same time.
