Community Ed offers womens self-defense class

Clark County Community Education is partnering with Nature Reliance School and Bluegrass Budokai to host a womens self-defense class from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

The class will cover situational awareness and using both observation and the body to avoid confrontations. Those who attend the class will learn drills to fend off attackers that can be practiced at home either alone or with family members.

The class will be taught by Craig Caudill of Nature Reliance School. According to Caudill’s biography, he has move than 20 years experience instructing law enforcement officers and private citizens about self defense.

According to information from Community Education, the class will serve as a fundraiser for the organization. The event is free for any women who want to sign up, but a $5 or $10 donation is suggested to help fund future classes.
