Harold “Randy” Asbury

Harold “Randy” Asbury, 67, of Ashland, formerly of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.

He was born Jan. 27, 1950, in Matewan, W.Va., a son of the late Walter V. Asbury II and Juanita M. Johnson DeHart.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Daniels.

Randy was of the Baptist faith. He worked during his youth as a coal miner and later retired from Toyota Motor Manufacturer in Georgetown. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a member of Winchester VFW Post 2728.

Randy was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. If anyone wishes to wear Randy’s favorite team’s logos and/or colors to the funeral home or graveside service in his memory, please do so.

He is survived by his devoted and adoring wife, Robin J. Asbury; his daughters, Rebecca (P.D. Collins) A. Beavers and Rachel (Geoffrey) A. Blankenship; five grandchildren, Carrie L. Beavers, D. Zane Crawford, Owen M. and Vera Rose Blankenship and Kimberly R. Beavers; two great-grandchildren; and his loving siblings, Sandra Kay Sincell, Brenda Church and Walter V. Asbury III.

Randy will also sadly be missed by many dear friends and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Graveside services will at 2 p.m. at Winchester Cemetery in Winchester.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
