Supporting what’s here will bring more choices

Ask Clark Countians what is needed to improve the quality of life here and you will get a variety of answers, but more dining options is almost always at the top of the list.
The recent announcements of the reopening of The Engine House as a pizza pub and the groundbreaking of the Steak N’ Shake are good news. Based on a variety projects in the works throughout the community, restaurant choices will likely continue to grow.
The addition of a new Holiday Inn Express near Interstate 64 bodes well for the future as hotels attract people, which in turn sparks spinoff growth.
The important thing to remember is we must support what is already here if we want more to come.
Competition drives success. Businesses want to see other businesses thriving, even if they are in the same industry.
Do we have as many options as Lexington? Of course not, but we need to think about what we do have before heading elsewhere.
Eliminating even one dinner trip out of town a month can have a huge impact.
Winchester and Clark County has some great options from cafes to pubs to finer dining.
The list is too many to name for fear of leaving someone out.
We have to rethink the urge to always look elsewhere.
Keeping money here at home supports the business we have and will help attract others to Clark County.
