How will you spend extra time?

Everyone agrees time is precious. So, what would you do if you had even one more hour today?

Now is perfect time to ponder that question because, essentially, we will on Saturday.

Once again it is time for the latter part of the “spring forward, fall back” equation of Daylight Saving Time.

So at 2 a.m. Sunday morning all our clocks roll back an hour. Although it can be difficult to wrap your mind around it at first, this basically means each of us gets an extra hour that day if we implement some creative time management. Your body doesn’t know the difference.

So when you wake up at 6 a.m., or whatever time, like clockwork it is really an hour earlier.

How will you use that time?

Maybe enjoy a sit down breakfast with the family that wouldn’t happen otherwise.

Take a brisk fall walk with your spouse or loved one.

What if this becomes the perfect chance to catch up on a television show that keeps falling off your schedule?

This time could allow you to type the email or write that letter to the old friend you keep meaning to reach out to but never do.

Maybe you meditate or do some self reflection about the year that is coming to a close and the one that lies ahead.

Or will you take advantage of that hour and stay snuggled in your bed trying to catch up on the elusive restfulness that evades many of us? Whatever your answer, hopefully the extra hour will be a true benefit and serve as more than just an afterthought.

Most of us wish there were more hours in the day. On Sunday it is almost like there will be.
