Downtown Winchester will be hopping later this week when the annual Holiday Hop open house begins Thursday.

At least 20 businesses are expected to participate this year, Main Street Winchester Director Rachel Alexander said. Participating businesses will be open until 7 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday, with some staying open Sunday as well.

“They will all be doing different promotions,” Alexander said. “In some cases, it would be a raffle. In others, it could be a surprise sale.”

Still others will offer refreshments, she said.

“It’s a festive atmosphere to power through that shopping list,” Alexander said. “It will be a great time to check out some of our new businesses as well as our downtown staples.”

The variety of participating businesses should be able to satisfy a lot of wish lists, she said.

“We think we can cross off everyone’s list,” she said.
