WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Melissa L. Finney, 30, was charged Saturday with public intoxication of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and third-degree assault of an officer.

— Timothy B. Turner, 26, was charged Friday with speeding 25 mph over the limit, driving under the influence of alcohol (aggravated), reckless driving, failure to maintain insurance and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

— At 5:49 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 27 E. Washington St. in reference to a stolen vehicle.

— At 6:19 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 951 Bypass Road in reference to theft of a debit card.

— At 6:26 p.m. Friday, officers responded to 259 S. Highland St. in reference to someone threatening to kill the caller’s son at threatening him.

— At 11:05 p.m. Friday, officers took a report of a found cell phone with messages about criminal activity.

— At 1:02 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to 730 Berry Court in reference to someone hacking th caller’s Xbox account and cell phone.

— At 3:49 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to 39 S. Maple St. after someone called 911 and hung up. Melissa L. Finney, 30, was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and third-degree assault of an officer.

— At 8:19 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to 10 Mutual Ave. in reference to a stolen chainsaw.

— At 9:56 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to 10 Hiawatha Trail in reference to a dog running loose.

— At 4:13 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 707 Simba Court in reference to theft of money by cashing a money order illegally.

— At 4:19 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 27 E. Washington St. in reference to someone with a gun.

— At 5:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 27 E. Washington St. in reference to a fight in progress.

— At 5:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 353 Hill St. in reference to a domestic disturbance.

— At 6:18 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 1919 Rolling Hills Lane in reference to someone posting the caller’s information on Craigslist and harassing her.

— At 7:45 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to 951 Bypass Road in reference to a stolen wallet.

— At 2:40 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to 101 Powe Drive in reference to an assault.

— At 12:35 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 227 E. Hickman St. in reference to someone slashing tires on a vehicle.

— At 3:18 p.m. and 3:34 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 951 Bypass Road in reference to someone trying to return items that had been purchased with a stolen credit card.

— At 3:55 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 113 S. Burns Ave. in reference to harassment.

— At 4:06 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 1215 W. Lexington Ave. in reference to a theft.

— At 5 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the area of Lexington Avenue and Carol Road in reference to a dog tied to a light pole.

— At 7:21 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 17 Virginia Ave. in reference to theft of a vehicle.

— At 11:16 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to 514 W. Washington St. in reference to a breaking and entering.

Reports

— At 3:36 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to 161 Coffee Springs Lane in reference to a stolen vehicle that was left on the property after it was wrecked into a ditch. The vehicle was towed and the owner was notified.

— At 6:22 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to Comfort Inn at 100 Revilo Road in reference to tolls stolen from a truck parked overnight by a guest.

— At 4:28 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to 100 Hillcrest Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle.

— At 7:35 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to 769 Dogwood in reference to a stolen vehicle.

— At 3:12 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to 300 Athens-Boonesboro Road in reference to a stolen vehicle.

— At 6:25 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to 1417 Ironworks Road in reference to someone shooting BBs or pellets into the front window of a home.

Accidents

— At 3:07 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to the area of the 96-mile marker of Interstate 64 west after a 2012 Kia Rio driven but Ellis Pennington of Morehead struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Pennington was not injured. 

— At 6:33 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Kentucky 9000 (Mountain Parkway) in which Roger Stollings, 36, of Winchester, said he fell asleep while driving his 2004 Chevy Blazer. Stallings said he awoke as the vehicle flipped. He was arrested and charged with third-degree driving under the influence and second-degree driving on a DUI suspended license.

— At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to an accident on Kentucky 9000 E (Mountain Parkway) in which a 2017 Dodge Charger driven by Gilbert Schweitzer of North Carolina struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Schweitzer and his passengers were not injured.

— At 6:42 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to an accident on Old Boonesboro Road in which a 2016 Chevy Equinox driven by April Bailey of Virgie, Kentucky, struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Bailey nor her passenger were injured.

FIRE-EMS

— Over the weekend, emergency personnel responded to 32 general medical calls, two cardiac cases, three respiratory cases, one stroke and two seizures.

— At 1:35 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a natural gas leak at 135 Murphy’s Run.
