Man charged with giving infant alcohol

A man wanted in Clark County on child abuse charged was arrested during the weekend by officials in Montgomery County.

Brett Gibbs, 30, was indicted by the Clark County grand jury in September for a single count of first-degree criminal abuse. According to court records, Gibbs did not appear for his arraignment in October and the judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said Gibbs allegedly exposed a 1-year-old child to alcohol. there were also allegations of an assault involving the child, he said.

Gibbs was under the influence of alcohol and meth at the time, Hall said.

Gibbs is being held on a $5,000 bond in the Clark County Detention Center.
