CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— James Simmons, 61, of 4519 Paris Road, was charged Monday with first-degree sexual abuse.

— Keith Jackson, 48, of Lexington, was charged Monday with driving on a DUI-suspended operator’s license.

Accidents

— At 7:19 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road in which Charles Jones of Mount Sterling was traveling east when his vehicle crossed the center line, went through the brush, struck a tree and overturned. Witnesses said the driver had a seizure after he walked out of the brush. Jones said he did not remember what happened. Jones was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— On Monday, EMS personnel responded to 12 general medical calls, one respiratory case and one diabetic case.

— At 8:57 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to an alarm sounding at 200 Rose Mary Drive. It was a false alarm.

— At 10:35 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at Hospital Drive and Lexington Road.

— At 2:03 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at Bypass Road and Frontier Drive.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 5:47 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on U.S. 60 near the drive-in theater.

WINCHESTER POLICE

Charged

— Wayne Curtis Bennett, 24, was charged Monday with theft by unlawful taking and failure to appear.

��� Michelle Denise Overpeck, 44, was charged Monday with public intoxication and possession of marijuana.

— Michael Sean Tuttle, 41, was charged Monday with third-degree burglary and receiving stolen property.

Reports

— At 4:14 a.m. Monday, officers were called to 233 Oxford Drive for a domestic disturbance.

— At 10:39 a.m. Monday, officers took a report concerning a theft from a storage building.

— At 11:32 a.m. Monday, officers were called to Clark Regional Medical Center, 175 Hospital Drive, concerning a person causing problems.

— At 12:22 p.m. Monday, officers took a report concerning a theft of a stone veneer.

— At 2:53 p.m. Monday, officers were called to 286 April Way concerning a theft of shoes and a wallet.

Accidents

— At 10:24 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to an injury accident on Holly Avenue in which Brianna Taylor of Morehead was traveling west on Holly Avenue and stopped for a stop sign. She said she thought a vehicle on Main Street had already passed, but she pulled out and struck it. The other driver, Angelina B. Clemons of 1439 Westwood Drive, said she was driving south on Main Street when she was struck by the other vehicle. Clemons was transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

— At 10:35 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an injury accident on West Lexington Avenue in which Cassie Semones of Prestonsburg was stopped at a traffic light. Her vehicle was struck from behind by another vehicle, driven by Brandon Donaldson of Lexington. Donaldson told police he was coughing and did not see the stopped vehicle in time. Both drivers were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

— At 2:03 p.m. Monday, officers responded to an injury accident on Bypass Road in which Jessica Heil of 17 Memorial Park was crossing Bypass Road on Frontier Way as another vehicle, driven by Mary Hounshell of Lexington was turning left from Frontier Way onto Bypass Road. The two vehicles collided, and each driver said she had a green light. Both were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

— At 10:15 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to an injury accident on West Lexington Avenue in which Christina Sparks of 850 Bypass Road walked into the road and was struck by a vehicle, driven by James L. Callahan of 218 E. Washington St. Sparks was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.
