BREAKING: Contech in Winchester Industrial Park catches fire

Winchester Industrial Authority Director Todd Denham has confirmed that Contech Engineered Solutions has caught fire in the Winchester Industrial Park.

No employees were injured.

Firefighters said they responded to the fire at approximately 7 p.m. They believe the fire started on a piece of machinery and spread to a rubber roof on the facility.

The extent of damage is unknown at this point.

Denham said Contech was one of the first companies to build in the park around 1984.

According to Contech Engineered Solutions website, the company is located at 700 Tech Drive. The company creates products used for various engineering and construction projects including bridges, drainage, erosion control, retaining wall, sanitary sewer and stormwater management products.

Both Winchester Fire-EMS and the Lexington Fire Department responded.
