A judge approved felony mediation for a husband and wife charged with the 2015 death of a Clark County man.

Roger Dale Kinney, 49, of 180 Twin Fork Lane, and his wife, 37-year-old Debra Kinney, are charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence, respectively, in the May 2015 death of Daryl Wiseman.

In felony mediation, all parties in a case meet with a court-approved mediator, often a retired judge. The mediator then attempts to negotiate a resolution to the case. If there is an agreement, it is presented to the presiding judge in the case to accept or not.

Roger Kinney has been incarcerated since his arrest in July 2015, days after Wiseman’s remains were found in a shed on a Clark County farm. Wiseman’s identity was confirmed about two weeks after the decomposed remains were discovered.

Roger Kinney reportedly confessed to killing Wiseman during an interview with detectives while he was jailed in Ohio on unrelated charges in 2015.

Debra Kinney is charged with allegedly helping Roger Kinney move Wiseman’s body on the farm, where they lived.

At the time, Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue Jr. said it was common for Wiseman to be out of touch from relatives for long periods of time, so they did not report him as missing.

Wiseman’s remains were found after a person hired to work on the farm in July 2015 reported a foul smell around the shed. The same worker reported a possible homicide on the property earlier in the month, but deputies found nothing when they searched the property.
