Marilyn Lou Maassen Petersen, 83, of Winchester, wife for 60 years to LeRoy Petersen, passed away Saturday at the Richmond Place in Lexington.
She was born in Shelby County, Iowa on January 6, 1934, to the late REimer Harry and Wilma W. Peters Maassen. She was a retired registered nurse and worked for 19 years at the Clark Regional Medical Center, a member of the Calvary Christian Church, Woman’s Prayer Group and member of the Calvary Care Small Group.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Paul (Kelly) Petersen of Winchester, daughter, Pamela (Ronald) Hicks of Killees, TX, two sisters, Jean Schroeder of Fremont, NE, and LuAnn Gustafson of Apple Valley, MN, four granddaughters, two grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son, Daniel Lee Petersen and sister, Joyce Lavonne Maassen.
Funeral services will be Friday at 12pm at the Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive, with Pastor Mike McCormick and Pastor Verne C. Mohr presiding. Visitation will be Friday from 10am until the hour of service at the church.
Honorary pallbearers are the Elders and Deacons of the church.
Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa.
