A man charged with first-degree arson said he lost everything in the fire and can’t make his $100,000 cash bond.

Timmy W. Isaacs, 45, of 525 Kiwi Drive, was charged with first-degree arson the day after the mobile home caught fire in the Quick Shop Trailer Park in Winchester.

During his arraignment in Clark District Court Wednesday, Clark District Judge Earl-Ray Neal entered an automatic not-guilty plea, because the charge is a felony, and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Jan. 3, 2018.

Isaacs’ appointed attorney requested a bond reduction to $25,000, as did Isaacs himself.

“Everything I had burned up,” he said over a closed circuit feed from the Clark County Detention Center. “All my money, everything.”

Neal decided to leave the bond at $100,000 cash.

The fire was reported at 9:17 a.m. Dec. 18. After arriving on the scene, Winchester firefighters rescued the homeowner, Bonnie Spencer, and her dog from the burning residence.

Police said Isaacs was a roommate of Spencer’s, and that there had been arguments between the two in the past.

Isaacs told police he had left around 8:50 a.m., but returned while firefighters were still on the scene.

An accelerant-detecting K-9 unit from Scott County indicated there were accelerants on Isaacs’ shoes and pants, as well as the seat of his pickup truck and the front porch of the home. Officers also found a gasoline can in the back of his truck.

The fire caused extensive damage to 525 Kiwi Drive and burned the exterior of the trailer at 527 Kiwi Drive as well.
