James Bradley Nelson, 56, passed away on December 27th.

He was born in Lexington, Ky. on June 19, 1961. He was the son of Katherine “Kitty” Williams Strode and James Samuel Nelson (Crisita).

He is survived by his mother and father, half-sister Shelby Strode Crosson (Adam) and their children, a half-brother Christian Nelson, and several extended family members. Brad served in the United States Army in 101st Airborne Division at Fort Benning, Georgia.

He was a huge proponent of all Veterans organizations, particularly his friends at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Unit. He was an enthusiast of the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and golf. Brad loved animals of all kinds but especially those in need of rescue. He was a kind and giving person and loved by many.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 6th, 1:00 p.m. at the Lexington Cemetery.
