— Community Prayer Service, 10 a.m. at First Church of God, 2500 Colby Road. Will include prayers for schools, students, teachers, staff, administrators and parents; volunteers, churches, non-profits and help groups; courts, jail, fire, law enforcement, EMS and first responders; military — active duty, veterans and reservists; those in distress; elected officials, appointed officials and civil government. If there is inclement weather, the service will be rescheduled for Jan. 13.

SUNDAY, JAN. 7

— Historic marker dedication ceremony, 2 p.m. at the intersection of Quisenberry Lane and Boonesboro Road. Marker will commemorate Daniel Boone’s first survey and the Bush settlement. There will be a reception after at the Fort Boonesborough State Park blockhouse.

MONDAY, JAN. 8

— George Rogers Clark High School-based Decision-making council meeting, 4 p.m. in the SBDM conference room.

— Alzheimer’s and dementia caregiver support group meeting, 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. Use alley door for entrance. Each support group meeting features a guest speaker followed by a time for discussion. Group is free and open to all caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. — Celebrate Recovery meeting, 7 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 5990 Lexington Road. Recovery group for any hurts, habits and hang-ups.

— Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees lunch meeting, 11:30 a.m., at Blue Isle in Winchester. All former employees and retirees of Winchester Sylvania are welcome.

— Winchester-Clark County Association of Church meeting, 11:30 a.m. at Fountain Circle Care and Rehab Center, 200 Glenway Road. Meeting open to the public.

— Special Clark County GIS Board of Directors meeting, 2:30 p.m.. at the Clark County Courthouse basement conference room.

— Clark County Writer’s Club, 6:30 p.m. at Clark County Public Library.

— Celebrate Recovery meeting, 7 p.m. at Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive. The Landing meetings, a support group for ages 13 to 19, are 7 p.m. at the RAC, 17 S. Main St. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program based on the Eight Beatitudes, the 12 Steps and their Biblical comparison. — Second Thursday Program, 6:30 p.m. at Bluegrass Heritage Museum, 217 S. Main St. Program with a Chataqua program from the Kentucky Humanities Council, “Jean Ritchie, Damsel with a Dulcimer.” Jean Ritchie will be portrayed by Rachel Lee Rogers. Program is free.
