A Lexington man could receive up to six years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to setting up a meeting with a juvenile for sex.

Terry Duncan, 64, was arrested in March 2017 after Winchester Police took over communications between Duncan and the juvenile, who was 17 at the time.

Thursday morning, Duncan pleaded guilty in Clark Circuit Court to one count each of use of a minor for a sexual performance and prohibited use of electronic communications to procure a minor or police officer for sex. Prosecutors recommended sentences of five years and one year in prison, respectively.

Duncan’s sentencing hearing was scheduled for April 5.

According to Winchester Police, detectives received a complaint of Duncan communicating with the 17-year-old over social media. The two had already been acquainted for about five years.

After detectives became involved and started communicating as the juvenile, Duncan allegedly requested a nude photo of the juvenile and organized a meet in Clark County for intercourse.

On March 22, 2017, Duncan arrived at the arranged location and found police officers waiting for him.

In an interview with police, he reportedly admitted to requesting the photo and setting up the meet at a truck stop near exit 94 of Interstate 64.
