For nearly 25 years, Winchester residents have found gifts, floral arrangements and handmade items from Kentucky natives at the Craft Nook, 1007 W. Lexington Ave.

The Craft Nook offers custom-made gifts, floral arrangements and Kentucky Proud items like Ale-8-One merchandise and Candleberry candles.

While Craft Nook owners Dave and Sue Mullen will host their 25th Christmas open house this year, they look forward to the store’s silver anniversary in April 2019.

“We’ve been open for (almost) 25 years, but this is our second location,” Kentucky Master Florist Gayle Brown said. “We used to be further down the strip.”

Brown has been a florist at the Craft Nook for 13 years. She said the store offers customizable arrangements and same-day delivery, a popular request around Valentine’s Day.

“It’s our busiest day of the year,” Brown said. “We’ll deliver that day, but it’s also a good idea to deliver your gift a day or two early and really make an impression on someone’s office.”

She said customers can visit the store’s website at craftnookflorist.com to view predesigned arrangements, or call 744-9280 to make specific requests or allow Brown to get creative and design something unique.

“Some regulars just call me and ask me to make something pretty,” she said. “Those are the orders I like most.”

If customers aren’t looking for flowers, they can find other items at The Craft Nook, too.

Brown said consistently popular items at the store include decorative lanterns, hand-made wreaths and candles.

Other seasonal items that are popular include silk products and clothing items like shirts.

The Craft Nook is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
