WPD looking into $9,000 meat theft

Winchester Police are investigating a report of a theft of thousands of dollars in meat from a grocery store distribution center.

Officials with Save-A-Lot, 4000 Corporate Drive, reported the theft on Thursday.

Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said company officials implicated an employee and another person for committing the theft.

“I don’t know if it was over a long period of time” or what type of meat was taken, Hall said.

At this point no one has been charged and not a lot of details are available.
