Jack Mathew Petersen, 72, husband of Lois Fraysur Petersen, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born on September 30, 1945 in Decatur, Illinois to the late Harry Mathew and Virginia Bradshaw Petersen. Jack retired from I.B.M. after 30 years of dedicated service. After retiring from I.B.M. he worked with Software Information Systems, an I.B.M. business partner. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and member of Liberty Bible Church of God. He attended Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas as well as Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana.
In addition to his loving wife, Lois, survivors include one son, Greg Petersen (Cynthia); one daughter, Lisa Renye’(William); seven grandchildren, Wesley, Cody, Spencer, and Tyler Jack Renye’, Jeremy, Noah , and Scott Petersen; He also leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Lila Rose Renye’; a sister, Donna Hudson (Joe) and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kenna Ann Petersen, who was born sleeping.
Services honoring the life of Jack Petersen will be conducted at 1:00PM, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Liberty Bible Church of God by Rev. Jerry Owen. Burial will follow in the Winchester Cemetery.
Jack’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayluard & Donna Baker, Paul & Judy Puckett, Asie & Carolyn Crump, Joe Hudson, Craig Coker, Bob Adams, Wayne Rice, Robert Pritchett, Jimmy Lakes and Mike Bradshaw.
Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the church.
