Man charged for assault with Ale-8 bottle

Winchester Police arrested an 80-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a woman with a light bulb and an Ale-8-One bottle Monday night.

Bobby Singleton, of 115 Buckner St., was arrested on a single count of second-degree assault concerning the incident.

According to the arrest citation, officers were called to Singleton’s residence at 8:50 p.m. to assist EMS personnel. The victim, Tracy White, told officers that Singleton hit her on the back of the head with the two items.

The wound, police said, required multiple staples to close.

In his interview with police, Singleton said he “probably” hit her with the bottle.

Singleton is being held in the Clark County Detention Center without bond.
