DOROTHY JEAN JONES GRIGGS

Dorothy Jean Jones Griggs, 93, widow of Kenneth Houston Griggs, died on January 29, 2018.

She was born on July 16, 1924, to the late Josephine T. Pendleton and Benjamin Shirley Jones.  She was well known in the community for her voluntary Christian work as a devoted and dedicated Jehovah’s Witness for almost 60 years.  She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by four sons, Russell (Linda) Griggs, Andy (Janie) Griggs, Warren (Audrey) Griggs, and Jerome (Patty) Griggs.  Grandchildren include Marshall (Kendra) Griggs, Timothy (Annie) Griggs, Daniel Griggs (deceased), Lori (Matthew) Gregory, Jennifer (Brian) Guyton, Shari (Vinnie) Gonzalez, Travis (Janie) Griggs, Seth (Stephanie) Griggs, Amber (Matt) Kerr, Joe Griggs (deceased), and Shawn (Elba) Griggs.  Great Grandchildren include Megan (Daniel) De La Rosa, Taylor (Alvaro) Davila, Chelsea Griggs, Zach (Shayde) Griggs,  Savannah (Taylor) Shane, Blake Griggs, Alexa Griggs, Madison Griggs, Grant Guyton, Bailey Griggs, Trevor Griggs, Sierra Griggs, Mason Kerr, Dakota Kerr, Dalton Gonzalez, and Jade Kerr.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3:00 pm., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 400 Kingston Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40511.  Visitation will be held one hour before discourse at 2 p.m. at same location.
