The two men charged with participating in an armed robbery for cash sent their cases to the grand jury for further action.

James Cornelius, 20 of 223 Whitney Court, and Mudanar Turley, 19 of 16 4th St., were both arrested and charged with first-degree robbery following the Jan. 19 incident.

According to Winchester Police, the victim thought he was meeting people to buy an iPhone X after seeing the phone offered on Facebook Marketplace. When the victim showed to for the meet with $600, three people were waiting in a truck. One of whom pulled a gun, threatened the victim and demanded the money.

Turley and Cornelius were arrested about an hour after the incident. According to court documents, they admitted to being there when the robbery occurred and said they each received $200 as their share. Police said they were reluctant to identify the third person.

Winchester Police Capt. James Hall said Thursday the third suspect has not been charged yet.

Turley and Cornelius were in Clark District Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing, which is used to establish probable cause. Defendants have the choice to forego the hearing and send the case directly to the grand jury. Both men remain in the Clark County Detention Center.
