CLARK COUNTY SHERIFF

Charged

— Darren Sloan, 47, of 1907 Iron Works Road, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence (second offense).

— Cody Slone, 20, of 213 Moss Court, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, violation of an EPO/DVO and receiving stolen property.

— Gabriel Rector, 21, of 334 S. Burns Ave., was charged Sunday with driving under the influence ad possession of open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Reports

— At 5 p.m. Saturday, deputies were called to 136 Blueberry Lane concerning damage to a mobile home.

Accidents

— At 11:10 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road near Ruckerville Road in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Archie E. Godwin, 49, of 1704 Pilot View Road, was in the road and was struck by a vehicle driven by John D. Cole of Beattyville. Cole told deputies he tried to avoid the collision but struck him with the right front of his vehicle. Godwin was pronounced dead at the scene. Cole and his passenger were not injured.

WINCHESTER FIRE-EMS

— During the weekend, EMS personnel responded to 38 general medical calls, five cardiac cases, four respiratory cases, two seizures and one overdose.

— At 7:33 p.m. Friday, firefighters assisted Clark County Fire Department with a garage fire at 185 Cunningham Lane.

— At 7:57 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Bypass Road and Interstate 64.

— At 11:10 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Irvine and Pilot View roads.

— At 9:31 a.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 111 Calloway St. concerning a downed electrical wire.

— At 1:13 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at 2508 Crowe Ridge Road.

CLARK COUNTY FIRE

— At 7:10 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a garage fire at 185 Cunningham Lane.

— At 11:42 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to an injury accident on Irvine Road.

— At 8:56 a.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to 5011 Schollsville Road for a smell of gas in the area.

— At 12:29 p.m. Saturday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Cherokee Drive.

— At 1:14 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at 2508 Crowe Ridge Road.

— At 9:59 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to an injury accident at Bypass Road and Interstate 64.

— At 3:40 p.m. Sunday, firefighters assisted EMS personnel with a call on Sewell Shop Road.

Charged

— Jeanette Beard, 55, was charged Friday with driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and first-degree wanton endangerment.

— Jeffery Finney, 34, was charged Friday with alcohol intoxication and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

— Brian W. French, 54, was charged Saturday with possession of open container of alcohol in motor vehicle and driving under the influence.

— Joshua Hopkins, 35, was charged Saturday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— George Lane, 90, was charged Saturday with fourth-degree assault.

— Benjamin Franklin Larson, 34, was charged Saturday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended operator’s license.

— Michelle Ann Preston, 32, was charged Friday with resisting arrest and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

— Jeremy A. Puckett, 26, was charged Saturday with fourth-degree assault.

— Stacy Gail Schellig, 31, was charged Friday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia  and was served a warrant.

— Paul Douglas Smith, 39, was charged Friday with resisting arrest, hindering prosecution or apprehension and second-degree fleeing or evading police.

— Paxton W. Thomas, 24, was charged Saturday with no or expired registration plate, driving under the influence, first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
