On Feb. 14, there was a school shooting in Florida, the 18th school shooting in 2018. Every time there is a mass shooting incident, the question asked of our elected officials is “when are you going to do something about the availability these shooters have to acquire military- style weapons.”

The answer given by Paul Ryan has always been “now is not the time for a debate on gun control.”

The reason now is not the time is because in 2016, the National Rifle Association gave $54.4 million to the Republican party in order to help elect politicians willing to turn a deaf ear to the pleas of the American people asking for help protecting their children.

I don’t think requiring a thorough background check is asking too much.

How many of our children have to die before the voters decided to remove these politicians from office?

Children are not the only ones being shot, but children are an easy target because they are required to be in a location that assures the easiest targets with no means of protection.

These same politicians are refusing to stop the Russians from interfering with our elections.

You may not agree with my opinion, but these children being murdered has angered me so much that I needed to vent my anger and this the only way I could vent, right now.

On Nov. 6, 2018, we voters will have the opportunity to make our voices heard, what will they hear from you?
