Kenneth Armitage, 89, of Winchester, husband of Opal Smith Armitage, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born on May 21, 1928 in Menifee County to the late Ben and Rosa Wright Armitage. Kenneth was a retired Kentucky State Trooper and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a charter member of the F.O.P. Lodge #34 where he was a lifelong member. He served as an assistant Troop Leader with Boy Scout Troop #54. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, survivors include two daugthers, Lisa Combs (Michael) of Winchester, Andrea Morris (Garry) of Winchester; one son, Gregory Armitage (Alice Watts) of Winchester; one sister, Audrey Conway of Frenchburg; two brothers, Benny Armitage (Emma) of Frenchburg, Jerry Armitage of Bossier City, LA. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00AM, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 with Kentucky State Police Honors at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Eric Patterson. Burial will follow in the Mack Cemetery in Frenchburg, KY. Kenneth’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Scobee Funeral Home.
