William Bryan McClure, 59, passed away Feb. 15, 2018, at the Elizabeth House, Flat Rock, NC.
He was born in Marietta, Georgia, March 23, 1958, to the late Edward and Shirley McClure.
Bryan was a people person who enjoyed meeting new people. He loved spending time at the ocean with family and family gatherings. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 8 years being stationed in various countries. He was the former owner of BJ’s BBQ and enjoyed serving his famous BBQ at various festivals and events.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Frank Alexander IV.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Judy McClure, of Balsam, NC; daughter, Jennifer Alexander and husband, Frank Alexander III, and granddaughter Shayla Alexander all of Culpeper, VA; two brothers, Jim McClure and wife, Paula, and Scott McClure and wife, Lisa, all of Winchester; two step-daughters, Kelly Ritchie and Lori Hafley of Kentucky; three step-sons, Chad Hafley of Kentucky, and Johnny and Russell Smathers, both of Sylva, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and one special little buddy and great-grandson, Nijah Norton of Cherokee, NC.
A celebration of Bryan’s life will be at 11 a.m. March 3, 2018, at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial at the funeral home.
