The Kiwanis Club and Foundation of Winchester received recognition at the K-T Kiwanis Mid-Year Conference at the Embassy Suites in Lexington this year.

The Kiwanis International Organization recognized the club as a distinguished club for its untiring efforts and continuing support for the children of the world and especially in Clark County and Winchester.

The award was presented to Russ Morrison by the Kiwanis District Governor Dale Hawkins.

The club received more awards for our support of neighboring clubs through our Inter-Club meetings with youth clubs, clubs in Division 9, other divisions and district conventions in Kentucky and Tennessee each year.

District K-Kids Coordinator Edye Bryant told fellow Kiwanians in attendance that Winchester Kiwanis had just chartered three youth clubs in our Clark County school system and accepted 12 new members into the main club this term, who are anxious to serve the community and improve the life of a child.

Club membership opportunities are available at this time. Contact Russ Morrison at 771-6091.

Visitors are always welcome to attend the club’s weekly meetings at noon Wednesday at the Taste of China Restaurant, 600 Bypass Road.
