SATURDAY, FEB. 24

— Eastern Bluegrass Extension Bee School beginner’s session, 9 a.m. and advanced session, 1 p.m. at the Clark County Extension Office. First session will focus on topics like putting together a beehive, basic beekeeping supplies and more. The advanced will include protecting pollinators from pesticide exposure, bee pest control strategies and more. Cost for one or both sessions is $12. The morning session will end with a meal. — Outside the Lines adult coloring group, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Clark County Public Library.

— “Honoring Those Who Served,” Winchester Black History and Heritage banquet, 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St. The 2018 Black History Month theme is “African-Americans in Times of War.” Speaker will be Dana Bowie, SGM (Ret.) U.S. Army. Music provided by Prototype. Banquet ticket sales will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 20 and Feb. 3, 10 and 17, at Joe’s Detail Shop, 48 N. Burns Ave. Tickets are $10 for veterans and children and $20 for all other adults. — Upward 40391 end-of-season celebration, 6 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.) at Campbell Junior High School, 620 Boone Ave. For all cheerleaders, basketball players and their families. Guest speaker will be Stephen Johnson, quarterback for University of Kentucky.

— Fireside Chat, 6:45 p.m. at Fort Boonesborough State Park. Admission is $15 for adults or $5 for children 12 and younger. Each evening includes Taste of Frontier Fare served from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. and a first-person performance. The 18th Century Tavern Blockhouse will be open with refreshments and            entertainment prior to the chats.
