— Bluegrass Heritage Museum Second Thursday program, 6:30 p.m. at 217 S. Main St. Speaker will be Matthew Davidson, archaeologist of the Cumberland district of the Daniel Boone National Forest in Morehead, discussing iron furnaces. Davidson has a doctorate degree in anthropology from University of Kentucky. His Ph.D. project covered subjects hide processing, regional exchange of exotic ornaments (copper and shell beads), and the colonial European fur trade. On the Daniel Boone National Forest Matt has shifted his focus to a broader array of cultural resources including the historic iron production and gunpowder industries and Native American rock art and rock shelter use and interaction between Native Americans and early settlers during the 1700s. The program is free.
