Gene R. Allen, 82, husband of Betty Henry Allen, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Clark Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Estill County, on June 1, 1935, to the late Barbra and Bertha Stone Allen.

He was retired from Bundy Tubing, where he worked for more than 36 years.

Mr. Allen was a lifelong farmer and a member of Calvary Christian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Sheila Allen Gonyer and Mike (Kandy) Allen; five grandchildren, James Wyatt Gonyer, Ashley Caroline (Jeff) Hampton, Allen William (Alex) Gonyer, Kelsey Allen (Corey) Harmon and Makenzie Kolton Allen; two great grandchildren, Caroline Elise Hampton and Ellie Morgan Harmon.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jimmy” Allen and Virgil Allen.

Services will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Mike McCormick and Rev. Paul Groves.

Burial will be in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be James Wyatt Gonyer, Allen William Gonyer, Makenzie Kolton Allen, Gary S. Allen, Todd Allen, Corey Ray Harmon and Jeffrey Bruce Hampton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Centers, Donald Birch, Ray Cooper, Jack Wise, Rick Mink, James Bender, Shane Wiseman, members of Clark County Farm Bureau and Clark County Saddle Club.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00PM at Scobee Funeral Home.
