David Gillespie, 82, husband of Deanna Garrett Gillespie, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Baptist Health in Lexington.

He was born in Burnsville, North Carolina on May 2, 1935 to the late Charles Byrd Gillespie and Mary Young Gillespie. He was a retired horticulturist and a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Gillespie also proudly served in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Kelly (Kelly) Gillespie; one grandson, Dylan Gillespie; two brothers, Charles Gillespie and Johnny Gillespie; and one daughter-in-law, Robin Gillespie.

He is preceded in death by one son, David Keith Gillespie; and one brother, Joe Gillespie.

Services will be 5:00PM Sunday, March 18, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Winchester, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery, 12:00PM Monday, March 19, 2018.

Visitation will be from 2:00PM until time of the service Sunday, March 18, 2108 at the church.
