The Clark County Homeless Coalition received a $43.53 donation from Mrs. Rigsby’s third-grade class at Justice Elementary School.

The third graders presented Terry Davidson, executive director of the Clark County Homeless Coalition, with the donation Friday. The students collected the money by selling candy.

Davidson thanked the students and talked to them about their generosity.

Davidson told the students what their money could do. Forty-three dollars will give a child bed for two weeks, feed a family for a week, pay for a month of computer classes.

The coalition helps about 225 people a year, Davidson said. Rigsby said the class took a field trip to the coalition earlier in the school year, and what they had learned stuck with the students and inspired them to donate.
