John L. Morgan

John L. Morgan passed away peacefully at his home on March 19th, 2018 AD.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Julie (Treon) Morgan and just five children: John David (Jordan) Morgan and their two sons, Sean and Rhys; Zachariah (Heather) Morgan and their two daughters, Gwyn and Lorraine; Samuel (Megan) Morgan and their son Elliot and daughter Idris; Mark Morgan; and Sara Morgan.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 18, 1953 AD, John earned his Eagle Scout badge at Troop 14 and received a bachelor’s degree at Georgetown College.

He drove a delivery truck at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico, worked as a deckhand on Ohio River barges and helped establish Kentucky’s pre-trial release program in Newport and Winchester, Kentucky.

John also worked as a missions coordinator in Eastern Kentucky, as a greens keeper, painter, handyman and history teacher.

John was a vibrant Christian, avid teacher, prayer warrior and enthusiastic 18th centyry re-enactor.

John was buried in Leslie County, Kentucky, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 AD.

A memorial service will be held at Holly Rood, 28 Beckner St., Winchester, KY 40391 on April 7, 2018.

Visitation from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. and a memorial service to follow at 7:30 P.M.
