Registration is now open to the annual Run For The Paws 5K.

“The 5K encourages healthy activity within our community while racing financial support for the Clark County Animal Shelter,” Deborah Jackson, director of programming for Winchester-Clark County Parks and Recreation said in an email announcing registration Friday.

Jackson said revenue from the 5K, which is the culminating event of the annual Clark County Wellness Challenge, usually draws more than 100 runners. Proceeds from the registration costs have helped purchase much-needed supplies at the shelter, including food and cleaning materials.
