4-H speech contest results at Clark County schools

Published 11:13 am Wednesday, April 4, 2018

Success is measured in many different ways.

Success during the Clark County 4-H Speech Contest extends far beyond numbers marked on a scoresheet.

Success is youth learning how to put their thoughts on paper in an organized speech.

Success is giving a presentation in front of your classmates, teachers and volunteer judges.

Success is allowing people to hear your voice that no one has heard before.

Success is youth encouraging and cheering for each other through the speech process.

Success is bravely sharing your personal story or of someone that holds a special place in your heart.

Success for some is taking their gift of stage presence and molding that energy into a three- to five-minute speech.

Success is seen when youth show their passion for something that they love.

Success is the feeling of relief after a speech that you have accomplished. Success is learning that to become better at something you must practice, practice, and practice.

Congratulations to the following youth for their successes. Youth receiving purple ribbons will compete in the Clark County 4-H Speech Contest on April 10 and 12.

Once again, thank you to all the teachers for their hard work and speech judges for taking the time to listen to all the wonderful speeches given the last few weeks.
