For the third year, downtown Winchester will be rocking through the summer as the Rock the Block concert series returns.

Main Street Winchester Director Rachel Alexander said crowds improved for the second series last year overall and from concert to concert.

“We noticed last year it was becoming a family-friendly event” with games and sidewalk chalk, Alexander said. “This year we are going to double down on family-friendly entertainment. We’ll have a bouncy house. We may have miniature golf.”

This year’s series will include food trucks on the courthouse square and West Sixth Brewing will offer beer.

The concerts will be on the front steps of the Clark County Courthouse, beginning with The Fever on May 18. Repeat performer Encore of Lexington will play on June 8, the night before the Beer Cheese Festival. Kimberly Carter and Carryin’ On, featuring Clark Family Court Judge Kimberly Walson, will perform on July 20, and The Classics will close the series on Aug. 17.

All concerts are free, but concert-goers should bring a lawn chair or a blanket.
